Intelligent orchestration software provider SaltStack secured $15.5 million in Series A funding led by venture capital firm Mercato Partners. This brings the company’s total funding to $28 million, building from past investments from Peak Capital, Epic Ventures, and Deep Fork Capital.

Silicon Valley startup Tachyum Inc. announced today it has received an outside investment from IPM Growth, the venture capital division of InfraPartners Management LLP (“IPM LLP”), a global multi-asset class fund management and advisory firm.

NGD Systems, Inc., the leader in computational storage, announced today the completion of Series B round of financing with $12.4M. The round was led by new investor Partech Ventures with participation from Orange Digital Ventures. Existing investors Alcor Micro and Benhamou Global Ventures (BGV) also participated in the round. In addition, the company has received a $4M credit facility from Silicon Valley Bank (SVB).

Dfinity, a startup that aims to build a new blockchain-based cloud, raised $61 million from investors Polychain Capital and Andreessen Horowitz. Today’s venture round follows an initial coin offering a year ago that closed after the company raised around $3.9 million.

Mnubo, an IoT data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) provider, has raised $16.5 million in a series B financing round to speed up the global expansion of its SmartObjects IoT analytics and data science solution.

Exascale computing company Nyriad Limited has announced it has completed its Series A investment round, bringing it to a total of over US$11 million raised to date. The funds will be used to support the continuing expansion of the business in Cambridge, New Zealand, including further investment in expanding its engineering resources and release of its first product to market in Q1’18.

Igneous Systems, Inc., which delivers hybrid cloud backup and archive solution for unstructured data, announced that Vulcan Capital and Orca Bay Capital joined existing investors in its series B financing round of $15 million.

Matrixx Software today announced a $40 million Series C funding led by Sutter Hill Ventures. Stefan Dyckerhoff, managing director at Sutter Hill, will join Matrixx Software’s board of directors. Additional new investors include Spring Lake Equity Partners and CK Hutchison, whose 3 Group of telecommunications operators serve over 130 million customers. The round also includes existing investors Greylock Partners, Adams Street Partners, Telstra Ventures, and Swisscom Ventures.
