Security company Palo Alto Networks announced that it has acquired privately held security company LightCyber for $105 million in cash.

LightCyber makes an automated behavioral analytics technology that uses machine learning to identify attacks based on behavioral anomalies inside the network.

HPE to Acquire Nimble Storage to Strengthen Leadership in Hybrid IT

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE:HPE) today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Nimble Storage, the San Jose, Calif.-based provider of predictive all-flash and hybrid-flash storage solutions. HPE will pay $12.50 per share in cash, representing a net cash purchase price at closing of $1.0 billion. In addition to the purchase price, HPE will assume or pay out Nimble’s unvested equity awards, with a value of approximately $200 million at closing.

Flash storage is a fast-growing market and an increasingly important element of today’s hybrid IT environment. The overall flash market was estimated to be approximately $15 billion in 2016 and is expected to be nearly $20 billion by 2020, with the all-flash segment growing at a nearly 17 percent compound annual growth rate

TruSTAR Technology Announces $5M Series A Investment To Power Fast-Growing Cyber Intelligence Exchange Platform

TruSTAR, the first security intelligence exchange platform built to incentivize information sharing, announced that it raised $5 million in Series A funding. The investment round was led by Storm Ventures, with additional contributions from Aspect Ventures, Resolute Ventures, and other prominent Silicon Valley investors. Storm’s Tae Hea Nahm will join TruSTAR’s board of directors. Over 50 companies are now exchanging intelligence data on TruSTAR, including customers from the Fortune 100 financial services, insurance, healthcare, cloud service provider, education, manufacturing and sports sectors. The new capital will be directly invested to scale platform features and accelerate customer success.

Metaswitch Acquires OpenCloud to Extend VoLTE Portfolio

Software vendor Metaswitch announced today that it has acquired OpenCloud to enhance VoLTE services, which Metaswitch offers to both mobile and converged network operators. Terms were not disclosed.
