Calsoft has been regularly attending Flash summit event. Given our interest in the Storage domain, this is the conference, we cannot miss. Flash Summit always live up to its expectation of providing a platform to network with companies and people that are creating next generation hardware/software products on SSD-Flash technology. It also brings an opportunity for zealous individuals to meet industry leaders and see them building next generation products at the event itself.
Flash summit has always given a mix of technical and business audience. This year I believe the Flash Memory Summit will revolve around NVMe and PCIe SSDs. They will also discuss various aspects of real-world performance involving flash technology and other datacenter technologies.
It looks like it will be an action packed three days event. There are so many seminars, education sessions, forums, and keynotes lined up that it is difficult to choose the best out of it. However I have not finalized which sessions I will attend but some of these events looks interesting to me:
Turning Big Data into Critical Business Advantage with Flash Memory – Open – Keynote 2
Darren Thomas, VP/GM Storage Business Unit, Micron will try to explain how enterprises can use the flash technology to get the most business advantage out of their data and stay competitive.
Design Efficient Storage Systems with Both Flash and HDDs – OPEN – Keynote 10
Here, Phil Brace, President Cloud Systems and Electronics Solutions, Seagate will explain how the latest SMR HDDs can provide cost-effective storage in situations such as archiving that can tolerate longer access times.
I am also excited to see that this year Flash Memory will be talking about new emerging and abstract technologies such as new 3D Flash Technologies, Using Storage Class Memory to Create Scalable Cognitive Computers, 3D NAND for Server Storage, and many more.
Overall, it looks like an interesting event. Getting an opportunity to catch up with customers and partner/vendor network under one roof is always exciting and thanks to Flash Summit, we get this opportunity every year.
The event is just a couple of weeks away and I am loving the way the excitement is being built up around it – especially on social media. The Facebook page of Flash Memory Summit is doing an excellent job of updating about exciting sessions and speakers, Twitter is active with live chats through #flashmem and the Blog Roll looks interesting too!
I look forward to meet the fellow professionals in the industry who are passionate about the latest in SSD-Flash technology. Let’s catch up while we are there and talk about technologies. Tweet me at @AnupamBhide, @CalsoftInc.
