The Customer – IMIlogic 

Organizations around the globe are adopting the Cost Plus Model at a rapid pace. This model is suitable because it has almost zero initial investment, low financial risk and quick start up. IMlogic was a leading player in the Enterprise Instant Messaging (IM) space.

The Challenge 

IMlogic was searching for an ideal offshore partner in India. They were planning to build a team in India which would give them more flexibility and value, with increased competitive advantage in their product range. This would also help them in enhancing their product features within specified budget and time.

The Solution  
Calsoft helped IMlogic in setting up, incubate and run their India Development Center before it got acquired by Symantec. The initial engagement started with doing mission critical work for their product and releases. As the team was ramped up, multiple critical features were developed and tested.
 
We managed to grow the team size by 100% within 6 months. Each of the QA consultants involved had 2/3 machines each acting as Client, Proxy and IM Cloud simulator. Also a separate test lab was setup. This was utilized for setting up different network configurations including a separate DMZ and firewalls (internal and external). 
 
Over years, Calsoft worked as major product development and QA partner with its client. This was a tightly integrated team engaged in co-development and releases with their counterparts in US. All the infrastructure and processes at their US office were seamlessly accessible and exercisable from Calsoft for the entire duration of the project.
 
The Benefits     

Calsoft was able to rapidly incubate India Development Center (IDC) which was of same size as the US team. This enabled IMlogic to double the number of features in their product line within the same period of time enabling them to meet stringent deadlines for their product releases. This was due to, round the clock progress made by a tight knit onsite-offshore team working on the same code base with daily check-ins. IMlogic’s India presence contributed significantly to their valuation for the acquisition by Symantec, Calsoft executed a transfer of the team to Symantec as a part of the Cost Plus Model.
